AIxMAT 2026: AI Meets Materials Research in Warsaw
From 24 to 26 November 2026, Warsaw will host the AI in Materials Research Summit (AIxMAT 2026), an international event dedicated to the rapidly developing field of data-driven materials research. The Summit will take place at the Faculty of Physics of the University of Warsaw.

AIxMAT 2026 will bring together leading researchers working at the intersection of artificial intelligence and materials science. Its scientific programme will cover machine learning interatomic potentials, uncertainty quantification, materials informatics, generative models for materials discovery, laboratory and computational experiment automation, large language models in materials research, and new AI architectures supporting these areas.
The programme will feature keynote and invited speakers from leading European research institutions, including Michele Ceriotti, Karsten Reuter, Johannes Margraf, Matthias Rupp, Milica Todorović, Ralf Drautz, Nongnuch Artrith, Núria López, Jacqueline Cole, Julija Zavadlav and Tejs Vegge.
Researchers are invited to contribute to the programme by submitting abstracts. The first-round abstract submission deadline is 9 September 2026, while early registration will remain open until 5 October 2026.
The Summit is co-organised by the entire ELLIS Unit Warsaw, comprising the IDEAS Research Institute, the University of Warsaw and Warsaw University of Technology, together with the Candela Foundation and COST Action DAEMON. The event is supported by NOMATEN CoE and ORLEN S.A.
ORLEN S.A. is the Strategic Partner of the IDEAS Research Institute, the main host institution of ELLIS Unit Warsaw.
