Opportunities at IDEAS Research Institute: Open Positions

ELLIS Unit Warsaw, hosted at IDEAS Research Institute in Warsaw, invites applications for two research positions in the group of Dr. Andrzej Mizera. Both positions are offered within the interdisciplinary EdgeCR project (NCN OPUS-26 LAP), carried out in collaboration with the University of Luxembourg and focused on developing scalable computational methods for controlling cellular reprogramming and transdifferentiation.

PhD Scholarship – Computational Systems Biology

This position offers an opportunity to pursue a PhD in Computer Science while working on cutting-edge modeling of gene regulatory networks and on deep learning methods for understanding cellular processes.

Profile of the candidate:

  • Master’s degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, computational biology or a related discipline

  • Strong programming skills in Python

  • Familiarity with statistics, machine learning and deep learning

  • Openness to interdisciplinary collaboration with biology

Postdoctoral Researcher – Computational Systems Biology

The postdoctoral researcher will contribute to the design and implementation of computational pipelines using scRNA-seq data to construct realistic Boolean network models of gene regulatory networks. These models will support the development of deep learning tools for identifying cellular reprogramming targets.

Profile of the candidate:

  • PhD in computer science, computational biology or a related field

  • Strong research track record in computational systems biology or related areas

  • Proficiency in Python or R and familiarity with machine learning / AI methods

  • Experience with Boolean networks or scRNA-seq data is a significant advantage
